Ten Foot Henry is an all-day-restaurant that offers a vegetable-anchored menu focused on family-style dining. We bridge the gap between what you should be eating and what you really want to eat. We are open everyday from 11am - 11pm. We serve brunch in addition to our regular menu Saturday and Sunday until 2pm. Reservations are recommended, but of course, walk-ins are always welcome! If you are short on time we can also satisfy your Henry cravings at our cafe,Little Henry, everyday from 8am - 4pm.
The restaurant is named after a long term Calgary icon, Ten Foot Henry. Ten Foot is literally a 10 ft replica of the famed 1930 comic strip character, Henry. This cartoon boy became larger than life as a muse for Calgary’s creative community in the 1980s. Ten Foot Henry has been many places in his 36 years, including an after hours club named Ten Foot Henry’s from 1982-1985 and eventually residing at the iconic Night Gallery at 1209 1st Street SW for all 19 years it's doors were open. Stephen Smee and Aja Lapointe have borrowed Ten Foot Henry from the One Yellow Rabbit Theatre and have returned him to his longest running home on 1st Street, where his food-filled adventure continues.
